Across the developing world. research is showing that empowering women is a powerful key to fighting poverty. This year, we have commenced inviting women from across our 15,000+ community to participate in local support groups and leadership training.
Though initially led by our staff, the goal is to train and release local women to lead their own small groups at the grassroots of their communities. We have already identified and are training our first generation of local leaders.
Through a commitment to growing strong relationships and providing education, our women are beginning to explore what it means to rely on each other to lead change in their families and communities.
We believe that in the long-term, the impact of this initiative will lead to greater, more sustainable improvements to the lives of our children and communities.
